i picked up a diesel genset and its not even hitting that limiter and running slow. it has holes where the spring can be attached to increase the speed. should i try that? it should be 50hz 230v but it is 180v and about 43hz. its getting old and hasnt been used for about 12years

If all of a sudden your engine needs the governor adjusting it can mean that the fuel pump or injector need cleaning or repairing or replacing and possibly even just a fuel filter replacement and new diesel might be the best way to rule out some causes before messing with the factory RPM governor. especially if you do not have a tachometer Or hertz read out to adjust RPM correctly

it is a diesel small engine.. it has no ecu or other electronic fire control. just a fuel pump and an injector. throtle is controlled by a valve in the fuel pump, amazing how simple that is!
